For Immediate Release:
Chiropractor Develops Comfortable "Show Chair"
In August of 2000, Dr. Jerry Zelm attended an art fair in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. As he observed the various exhibits, he couldn't help but notice that most of the chairs offered little or no support, and the ergonomics were terrible.
Dr. Zelm's thirty year background in Chiropractic led him to do a survey. Most of the artists he interviewed admitted their chairs were uncomfortable. When he mentioned the possibility of developing a more comfortable chair, they were quick to offer him their business cards.
After further research, Dr. Zelm commissioned a design engineer to help him with the project. After three years of work, and many design modifications, the Back 2 Health™ Show Chair became a reality.
Here are some questions and answers about this exciting new
product:
Why do you think
this chair is needed?
Artists often travel hundreds of miles to participate in
weekend art and craft fairs. Most of the day is spent sitting as they
market their craft. This sedentary lifestyle contributes to chronic back and
related health problems, especially if they sit on chairs that do not provide
adequate support.
How is the Back 2
Health™ Show Chair different from the others on the
market?
Most of the
other chairs do not take the natural curves of the spine into consideration,
especially the lumbar spine. This is critical since the lumbar spine forms the
foundation for the rest of the back. The Back 2 Health™ Show Chair provides
both horizontal and vertical support to the entire back at angles that are very
comfortable, even with prolonged sitting. It's also wider than other chairs,
which makes it ideal for a greater variety of body types. Once you sit in it,
you immediately feel the difference.
How does it compare in price with other
chairs?
The Back 2
Health™ Show Chair is more expensive, yet competitively priced. It's made
of quality materials which are beautifully finished. We call it sturdy oak elegance because of its strength and
beauty. It can be used at home and in many venues including art fairs and trade shows.
What are some of the chair's features and
accessories?
Attractive and comfortable
back and seat cushions which are available in four different colors:
teal, royal blue, charcoal, and linen. Zippered
tote bags are available in matching colors that hang over the arm
of the chair. The tote bag has an open pocket which is handy for
magazines, cell phones, etc. The
red oak work station that comes with a built in beverage holder. Recent accessories include: chair covers (traveling cases) made
of durable black hydrotuff fabric, and under bags that hang nicely
below the chair with zippered openings for storage of personal items
with easy accessibility.
The Back 2 Health™ Show Chair is "born and built" in the United States. Dr. Zelm is very proud of this and intends to keep it that way."
